If you search for control panel makers in India, you will find hundreds of names. Some run proper workshops, others simply take orders and hand the work to someone else. Telling them apart is not always easy from a website. Here is how we would look at it if we were on the buyer's side.
How to judge a control panel manufacturer
Start by asking to see the workshop, or at least photos of work in progress. A serious manufacturer will not mind. Look at how the wiring is done, whether there are testing benches and whether drawings are prepared before building. A neat shop floor usually leads to neat panels, and a messy one rarely does.
Next, ask what brands of components they use and whether they will put them in writing in the quotation. Two quotes that look far apart in price often differ in exactly this, the make of the breaker or the thickness of the sheet. A quote that hides these details is a quote worth questioning.
Visit the workshop
A serious manufacturer will welcome a visit or share work-in-progress photos.
Check the drawings
Ask to see sample circuit diagrams and a component list.
Compare brands
Make sure each quotation lists the make of key components.
Ask about testing
Request a sample test report or checklist.
Talk to references
Speak with customers who have used similar panels.
Understand support
Find out who responds if the panel misbehaves after installation.
Questions worth asking before you decide
Also ask about testing and after-sales help. Who will come if the panel misbehaves after installation, and how quickly? Talk to a couple of their earlier customers if you can. A manufacturer who stands behind the work will give you references without much hesitation.
We at Shai Power Control are happy to be judged this way. Our unit is in Greater Noida and you are welcome to visit. Send us your requirement and compare our offer against others, checking the specification line by line rather than just the total.
Where it is commonly used
Before you place an order
Price is only one of the things to compare. A quotation that is much lower than the rest usually leaves something out, whether it is component quality, sheet thickness or testing. Line up the offers on the same specification before looking at the total. Otherwise you may be comparing a full panel with a cheaper version of it.
Also think about who will be reachable after delivery. Panels do sometimes need adjustments, and a supplier who answers the phone in the first week is worth a lot more than a small saving. We say this as a manufacturer ourselves, and we are happy to be held to it.
